IObit has just updated its well-known Start Menu 8 application whose purpose is to make Microsoft’s Windows 8.x modern platform a bit more familiar by bringing back a full-featured Start Menu.

While the developing team hasn’t revealed any release notes for this particular build, Start Menu 8 1.4.0.908 most likely comes with bug fixes and performance improvements aimed at both Windows 8 and 8.1, as plenty of adopters of the two operating systems are already using the app right now.

Start Menu 8 continues to be one of the top third-party apps that bring back the traditional menu in Windows 8, so every update is being delivered to quite a lot of users from all over the world. Of course, Windows 8.1 support is also being offered, with the app completely replacing the built-in Start button and launching a full-featured Start Menu.

In more Start Menu news, Microsoft is said to be working on its very own version for the next flavor of Windows that’ll hit the market in early 2015, as the company has finally understood that it’s the time to start listening to customer feedback a bit more.

Reports citing sources close to the development process of the so-called Windows Threshold indicate that Microsoft is considering bringing back the Start Menu in this particular OS version, along with options that would allow users to run Modern apps right on the desktop, in their very own windows.

While it’s not yet clear whether these news reports are indeed true or not, it appears that Microsoft is actually trying to fix its public image by bringing back the features users love the most. It all commenced with the Start button, then continued with options to boot directly to desktop and skip the Modern UI, and is now getting ready to reach the final frontier with a Start Menu in Windows Threshold.
