The first-person / third-person space combat game Starlight Inception will be available for PlayStation Vita in December and will bring players a single-player campaign, a single-player Fly Patrol (tower defense), as well as several multiplayer options.

It seems that the developers were inspired by old space sim games and decided to create a more sophisticated game, so they brought forth Starlight Inception.

Unlike the older games, this one has a modern twist to it and was created to offer players the possibility of flying from space down to planetary / lunar environments without any problems.

Gamers will take the role of a young space fighter pilot that has been assigned to U.S.F Midway (SCVN-41). The first mission, one that is included in the available beta, will offers players the chance to learn more about their ships, crew and enemies.

The beta will give you a taste of what is to come, as the finished game will incorporate more than 30 hours of single-player gameplay. The final product will feature a hangar bay with numerous different fighters, bombers, and transports, each having their own customizable weapons and equipment.

Moreover, the fighters represent future versions of the modern-day fighters, such as Lightning and Raptor, and are capable of working in space and planetary environments.

The story behind the game is quite interesting as it is constructed around a World War IV, the developers putting a lot of effort into creating everything as realistic and believable as possible.

Around ten single-player missions are available for you, each having unique objectives and tasks, ranging from escort missions to fighter missions.

In addition to this, in Starlight Inception, players can find a fully integrated second campaign in the form of 3D tower defense game, entitled Fly Patrol.

The intention of the developers was to give gamers something else besides completing missions, the tower defense mode being an awesome experience.

Furthermore, several multiplayer modes are available in the full version of the game, one having the possibility to select from deathmatch, capture the ball, and football mode. Also, Starlight Inception incorporates a lot of features specific to Vita.

The developing team made use of the accelerometer, the gyroscope, the front touch pad, and the sticks. Therefore, players will truly enjoy the game on PlayStation Vita.
