The development team at Blizzard has announced that Starcraft II now supports spawning, which means that a player that has the Starter Edition of the game can be upgraded by a friend who owns the full release.

A spawned player gets access to many more Starcraft II features and can understand the game experience better.

The new feature even works for the Heart of the Swarm content, which means that those who only own Wings of Liberty will get their session upgraded for a while in order to get access to the new units.

In the Blizzard video attached to this article, Cloaken, a community manager, offers more information on how spawning works in Starcraft II.

Blizzard has used the feature in its classic strategy games and the decision to incorporate it into a modern title will probably lead to more hours spent with it and also increased sales.
