Strarcraft was (and pretty much continues to be) probably one of the most popular RTS games of all times. The three factions (zerg, terran and protos) battled each other tens of millions of times over the game's extensive reign. Starcraft World Championships were held over the years and the best players got amazing revenues. Even to this day there is an impressive community of fans. You may want to keep in mind that even after a mere six months period a game is usually considered old, yet Starcraft managed to keep the fans' interest for 9 (nine!) whole years.

The story is nothing really special - in the distant future human exiles fight for survival at the edge of the galaxy. As the Terran resources tend to run out they need to turn to their mysterious neighbors and make sure they manage to get every mineral and vespene gas resources on the Zerg and Protos territory. What really makes the difference with this game is the multiplayer gaming experience. You can choose to engage into battles over the internet on Blizzard's official servers hosted on Battle.net or challenge your friends to a LAN competition. While I really do not advise you to use any of the following cheats when engaged in multiplayer, here's a quick list of helpful stuff that will make the campaign more accessible. Besides, all of these cheats have very amusing names (one more funny moment signed Blizzard). To activate the cheat all you need to do is press ENTER, type the code and hit ENTER again.

operation cwal - faster building and instant upgrades
the gathering - get unlimited psionic ability
power overwhelming - invulnerability for your buildings and ships
food for thought - ignore the supply limit when building units
black sheep wall - map is revealed
noglues - the opponent has no psionics
modify the phase variance - build anything
medieval man - upgrades to units are free
there is no cow level - skip the mission
ophelia - enables mission select (you than have to enter one of the following three)
terran - Terran mission select
zerg - Zerg mission select
protoss - Protoss mission select
staying alive - continue the game after the mission is completed
man over game - win the game
game over man - lose game
show me the money - increases minerals and gas by 10,000
whats mine is mine - increases minerals by 500
breathe deep - increases Vespene gas by 500
war aint what it used to be - no fog of war
glues - the computer opponent doesn't advance in technology
