14 DAY TRIAL // The development team at Blizzard working on the eSports aspect of Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm is offering fans of the concept the official dates for upcoming events in a number of territories.
The official company blog states:
April 14 – Europe – beginning of special qualifiers
April 20 – America – beginning of special qualifiers
April 23 – Europe - round of 32 league play
April 28 – America – round of 32 league play
May 25 – Europe – regional league finals for 8 players
May 31 – America – regional league finals for 8 players
The team states, “For this inaugural season of WCS America and WCS Europe, 24 players will be invited to compete in each region based on their performance in past StarCraft 2 tournaments.”
The competition will showcase some of the best players of Starcraft 2 in the world and will offer an impressive range of prizes.
