American global coffee company and coffeehouse chain Starbucks is now the proud owner of a brand-new and LEED-certified store located in the Downtown Disney District in Anaheim, California.

Media reports say that the store is the first of a total of four that the coffeehouse chain wishes to open on Disney properties spread across the United States' territory, and that it officially opened this past March 10.

Inhabitat tells us that this new Starbucks store owes its LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification to the fact that the furniture inside it is chiefly made from reclaimed wood.

By the looks of it, this material has also been used to add a large patio structured around an old growth tree to the store.

The store also features a green wall that serves as a home for roughly 1,000 native plants, and a 10-foot (roughly 3 meters) video installation meant to allow people to become acquainted with the story behind Starbucks.

“This store is a reflection of two iconic brands coming together to offer their customers the kind of high quality experience they expect in a way that embodies the unique passion of each.”

“Collaborating with Disney offered us the opportunity to create a unique moment of connection for our customers in a way that evokes the magic that their guests expect,” Arthur Rubinfeld with Starbucks commented on the opening of this store.
