Star Wars: The Old Republic, the MMO from developer BioWare and publisher Electronic Arts, might not be in the best commercial shape but the game has managed to get four big awards at the GDC Online awards.

The Old Republic was launched in late 2011 and is set to adopt the free-to-play business model during November in order to boost its flagging number of subscribers.

A quick look at the video games that received awards in the nine categories and those who were nominated will probably give MMO interested gamers a good idea of the state of the genre and the titles that are best suited to their own tastes.
