Blake Jorgensen, the chief financial officer of Electronic Arts, says that the company has long-term plans to grow its Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO despite the problems that it had when it was first launched.

The executive admits that expectations for the game were too high initially, but believes that the excitement created around the new Star Wars movies coming starting 2015 should make it more attractive to fans.

Eurogamer quotes him as telling investors that, “It's a great business that's very repeatable. We brought the economics in line so it's a profitable business for us.”

At the moment, a team at BioWare is working on the Galactic Starfighter expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republic, which will allow players to customize their own ship and then engage in battles.

The content will be first offered to those who are paying a subscription on December 3 of this year.
