BioWare and the Guinness World Record organization have announced that Star Wars: The Old Republic, the latest online role playing game that appeared a few weeks ago, has set a new record for the largest voice over project in entertainment.

Star Wars: The Old Republic has been a long time coming, with BioWare hyping it up with all sorts of features and pieces of information throughout its development process.

Among the most peculiar details was that the game would have more than 200,000 lines of dialog, recorded with the help of several hundred voice actors from all over the world.

While many MMOs rely just on blocks of texts to give out information, The Old Republic delivers most of its quests, missions and interactions through spoken dialog.

This feat has helped the online game set a new record for the “Largest Entertainment Voice Over Project” that will be mentioned in the 2012 Gamer’s Edition of the Guinness World Record book, alongside quite a few other records we mentioned last year.

Electronic Arts, the game's publisher, already boasted the fact that The Old Republic is the fastest selling MMO in history, but that has yet to be certified by any outside organization.
