The development team at BioWare working on Star Wars: The Old Republic announces that it will launch a new update for the game, labeled 2.7 and named invasion, on April 8, introducing quite a bit of new content for gamers to enjoy.

Players of the title will be able to engage in battle in two new Flashpoints, one on Tython and one on Korriban, which form a new level 55 story arc called Forged Alliances.

The team explains on the official site that, “Prepare to invade the enemy’s land and then defend the Jedi or Sith home worlds as you meet a host of new intriguing characters, including the adventurous Theron Shan, the son of Jedi Grandmaster Satele Shan, and a sophisticated Sith Lord named Lana Beniko whose passion lies in unravelling secrets behind the enemies of the Empire.”

Interesting rewards are being offered for all the players who finish the content.

In The Old Republic, Baron Deathmark and the magnificent Giradda the Hutt are offering gamers the possibility of playing Huttball on Quesh, which means that the MMO offers a Player versus Player Warzone with a new and exciting vertical layout that requires the use of grappling blasters and solid team tactics.

In the galactic Starfighter section of the Star Wars title, gamers can experience dogfighting among powerful capital ships while dodging enemy attack in the new Denon Exosphere battle zone.

BioWare adds, “Rivaling Coruscant in size, Denon’s densely populated cities form a mesmerizing display of lights that provide the perfect backdrop for visceral Star Wars 12v12 dogfights as you fight for control of this critical hyperspace junction.”

An entire new tier of valuable gear is also offered via the Invasion update to all gamers who are capable enough to take on the Dread Fortress and its five powerful bosses with a team of fellow players.

Star Wars: The Old Republic is a free-to-play MMO that allows players to explore the world of the well-known science fiction universe thousands of years before the events of the movies, with a wealth of options for character development and for customization.

Some content is only offered to players that are subscribers for a limited time before the entire community gets access to it.

BioWare has promised that it will deliver updates for the MMO for a long time and a major expansion is set to be delivered before the end of summer.
