14 DAY TRIAL // BioWare has revealed that Star Wars: The Old Republic will include optional non-human species for each of the classes available, both on the Sith and Jedi sides. The company has talked about Rattaki Bounty Hunter, Chiss Imperial Agent or the Twi'lek Smuggler before, but a recent news post on the official website of the game confirmed this fact.
Some of these optional species were also revealed in the information released by BioWare. One of the races available for the Dark Side is the Sith Pureblood, the race from which the original Sith Lords like Naga Sadow or the infamous Marka Ragnos come from. This species will be available only for Sith Warriors, as players will benefit from the rage associated with the red-skinned members of the Pureblood.
Players will also be able to fill in the shoes of Zabraks as Sith Inquisitors. It may be worth remembering that Darth Maul from Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace was a member of this species. Sporting horns and tattoos on their faces, coming from an inhospitable world, the Zabraks are fierce and aggressive Force wielder that can also effectively use a lightsaber.
Those who will choose to be part of the Galactic Republic will also be able to select other races than human for their characters. Jedi Knights will be able to choose to be Miraluka. This is a race that comes from a homeworld with no visible light waves, forcing its members to rely on the Force for their sight. They cover their eye sockets with customizable veils and blindfolds and allow the Force to guide their strikes on the battlefield. The green-skinned Mirilians can become Jedi Consulars because of their patience and insight. They are very powerful users of the Force, providing incredibly valuable support in during fights.
More information about this aspect of BioWare's massively multiplayer online role playing game will be coming at a later date, according to the developer. Star Wars: The Old Republic is coming in the spring of 2011 on the PC.
