Josh Tsui, the president and the co-founder of Robomondo, reveals that a Star Wars-themed fighting game was in development for the first Xbox home console from Microsoft, but was canceled before it could be completed during 2005.

The developer is offering fans of the franchise and curious gamers a chance to see a match-up between Anakin Skywalker and Darth Maul.

The Star Wars title seems to use a 3D space, which allows the characters a wider set of moves.

Tao Feng: Fist of the Lotus and WWE WrestleMania 21 were other titles created by Studio Gigante.

Apparently, no publisher had signed up to distribute the Star Wars video game before the development team was forced to disband.

At the moment, LucasArts is using the Unreal Engine to create a new open-world action title called Star Wars 1313.
