OK, the Star Wars movies have become legends and there will be new Star Wars episodes. The problem is that J.J. Abrams' Episode VII will only be out on December 18, 2015. How do you cope with that?

Sure, you can watch the George Lucas episodes again and try not to miss the re-release of the uncut versions of them on Bly-ray, but that may take a while too. The AppStore editors have a new surprise for all Star Wars fans out there – a selection of apps and games with all the planets, troops and action you desire. Especially now, that there are two different Star Wars games that just came out.

Star Wars Commander is the free one and it turns the movies into an action-packed, combat strategy game. Your mission as a player is to recruit a force and make a great team in order to challenge players across the Star Wars universe.

Yes, this has been developed by LucasFilm so you know it is the real deal. You can either choose to join the Empire or the Rebellion and engage in epic battles. If you feel the Force is not with you, you can always buy some extra crystals via in-app purchases. The price range is anywhere between $4.99 (€3.76) and $99.99 (€75.28), but then again this is a universal game, so as soon as you sign into GameCenter, you can play it on your iPad or iPhone.

Star Wars Journeys: The Phantom Menace is a game released over a month ago. You have to pay $4.99 (€3.76) but there are no further in-app purchases to empty your pocket. This is more than a game, but a way of reading the story and get into action.

Your job is to unlock the hidden secrets in each interactive scene and race across the galaxy after your enemies. This is an app designed for the iPhone or iPad, and it uses parallax and other cool features. The rest of the series episodes will soon come out on iOS.

When it comes to games, you are not going to get bored, because this selection has ten more for you, including the infamous Angry Birds Star Wars II.

The editors have included a TV Show – The Lego Star Wars one app and two magazines dedicated to this field: Star Wars Insider and Star Wars: The Clone Wars Magazine. Both are free, but in order to get content each month, you need to pay anywhere from $3.99 (€3.00) and up to $23.99 (€18.06).

Check out the Star Wars Apps & Games selection and make sure to buy your tickets for the big premiere in December of 2015.
