Some time ago, Disney said that the casting announcement for their highly anticipated “Star Wars: Episode VII” would be coming “soon” but, as you must have noticed from the wording here, that was some time ago. Further clues have popped up online, hinting that something big is in store for fans of the successful film franchise.

We already know that J.J. Abrams, who dropped out of the next “Star Trek” reboot installment just so he could work on “Star Wars VII,” has moved to London at the beginning of the year, because that’s where principal photography is taking place.

So, he’s already in town, handling issues with the production. Also in town over the weekend were three of the original cast members of “Star Wars” who, incidentally, have also been long rumored to be making cameos in the upcoming installment.

Indeed, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford aka Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Han Solo, were all photographed in London this weekend, E! News reports. They were never seen together, but they were spotted doing things that could be connected with the insanely anticipated new “Star Wars” film.

“Ford was seen on April 24 at London's Hakkasan restaurant, and on Saturday, he was snapped chatting with the pilots of London's air ambulance in Grosvernor Square. Then, Fisher tweeted, ‘So my do dog Gary has been spotted in London, but apparently without me. Who has he been seeing? Let me know if you have any clues’,” E! reports.

Hamill too went out for dinner at one of the local restaurants, his date being Peter Serafinowicz, a name that must ring familiar with fans of the franchise, as he voiced Darth Maul in “Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace.” Peter’s cryptic tweet (below) could also be seen as a hint that there is one major reunion coming fans’ way.

Now that’s just too many coincidences in one place. Something big is about to happen, fans and industry insiders are convinced.

Then, there’s a report that’s getting a lot of traction online about how Harrison Ford’s role is going to be “gigantic,” and that he’s not just shooting a cameo. In fact, Deadline says, Ford has already signed for all 3 future films.

Shooting for “Episode VII” starts in May. Word on the street is that Disney will finally be making an announcement (with the principal cast and probably the official title for the film as well) at San Diego Comic-Con this week.

The bottom line is that, with Abrams on board as director and co-writer on the script, Disney has probably agreed already to play by his rules. Abrams just so happens to be one of the most secretive directors working in Hollywood, so this means that fans will only get something more solid to go by when (and if) he feels like sharing it with them.
