Hollywood's love affair with the gaming industry has been going on for quite some time now. Ever since the early days of the Atari or the Nintendo Entertainment System, hot movie properties have been ported and adapted so that movie-goers can spend some more money on those licensed video games.

The bigger the impact on pop culture the franchise has, the more quickly it needs to be turned into a video game. This is especially true with the Star Wars franchise, which has seen a lot of video games based on its rich universe. One of the more recent ones has been directly tied to the third episode of the beloved franchise, Revenge of the Sith.

The license was given by LucasArts to Ubisoft in order to create a multiplatform game that would be directly tied to the movie and appear on the same day, May 5, 2005. The title appeared for many devices including the PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameBoy Advance or the Nintendo DS.

Centered around Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, right at the end of the Clone Wars, the game features many scenes from the movie and portrays the intense fighting that happened during it. 18 levels constitute the title and you can even watch almost 12 minutes of movie footage during the cut scenes. Enemies that the two Jedi masters can encounter are droids, clone soldiers and Neimodian forces.

Seeing how it is a Star Wars game, the primary weapons will be light sabers, which can be used against almost anything and by many of the main characters. A special type of meter will also track how much Force the player can use in their attacks, thus being able to turn the tide of the battle.

In terms of development, the Nintendo DS version is simply a port of the GBA edition, enhanced for the superior hardware and with added support for the touchscreen feature.
