The development team at DICE and publisher Electronic Arts are announcing that they are entering a partnership with the retail chain GAME in order to deliver a series of developer diaries for the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront.

The first episode is an interesting look at the way all those involved are trying to make sure that the video game looks exactly as fans are expecting it to, based on the data that LucasArts has made available.

There's no entirely new footage taken from the game engine, but there are plenty of opportunities to see those who are developing the title working on it.

It's interesting to see how DICE is trying to introduce unparalleled visual fidelity to the series while also maintaining the old school look of the original trilogy.

Niklas Fegraeus, the design director working on the project, says that his team has had unrestricted access to material associated with the movies in order to create their own take on the environments, the weapons and the vehicles.

The first development diary for Star Wars Battlefront also talks about the Battle of Jakku downloadable content for the game and encourages gamers to place a pre-order so that they are able to play it on December 1.

Star Wars Battlefront is designed to accommodate a variety of player needs

The initial trailer for the DICE project is impressive on its own, but the company has managed to increase the hype level by offering a lot of details about the way players will be able to customize their experience.

Star Wars Battlefront can be played from a first or a third-person perspective and gamers will be able to experience 60 FPS action, although resolutions have not yet been revealed.

Four worlds, each with a variety of maps, will be offered on launch and gamers will be able to use the hero system to become some of the most powerful characters in the universe, with official confirmations limited at the moment to Boba Fett and Darth Vader.

The studio also says that it wants to cater to as many play styles as possible and that customization options for characters will be extensive.

Star Wars Battlefront is set to arrive on the PC, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 on November 17, and items are also included for those who pre-order.
