Star Wars Battlefront is shaping up to be one of the most interesting titles to arrive in the fall of this year, and the development team at DICE has been dropping a few more details about the title after the official reveal at the Star Wars Celebration event.

Niklas Fegraeus, the design director working on the project, has used his Twitter account to tackle a range of questions from the fan community.

The most interesting revelation from his messages is that gamers will not have access to all the Heroes of Star Wars Battlefront at all times and that their presence is linked to the game mode that's enabled.

The Hero system allows players to gain power during a match in order to become one of the most important and iconic characters from the franchise, with Boba Fett and Dark Vader revealed until now.

It seems that many more characters will be introduced before the title is officially launched, aligned with both the Jedi and the Sith.

The limits are probably implemented in order to try and keep the gameplay of Star Wars Battlefront balanced.

The version of Darth Vader showed in the reveal trailer and gameplay demo seemed nearly unstoppable, and having many such heroes on the battlefield at the same time would probably be unwieldy.

DICE promises plenty of maps for launch

After the development team talked about the four planets that gamers will be able to fight from, fans speculated that only two maps for each would be offered.

Fegraeus says that the studio has more ambitious plans and aims to shows gamers some impressive locations from the universe of Star Wars they have never visited before.

More than eight maps will be offered when Star Wars Battlefront launches and they are designed to introduce variety to the combat conditions.

The developer also says that DICE wants to make sure players have options when it comes to their character and can find success whatever their playstyle as long as they work with their teammates.

Star Wars Battlefront will be offered on the PC, the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 from Sony on November 17 and pre-orders are already open for fans who want to get access to some exclusive items.
