14 DAY TRIAL // Video game developer DICE and publisher Electronic Arts are set to introduce the first official trailer for Star Wars Battlefront on April 17, and the two companies are offering gamers three new screenshots linked to the game to sate their appetite for new content.
They come from the official Instagram account of the company and offer an incomplete look at a Stormtrooper that will probably be part of the upcoming reveal.
A few more shots might be coming before April 17, when the footage will finally give use a clear look at Star Wars Battlefront in action.
DICE has not said if it is aiming to offer a trailer that is made up entirely of CGI or if the in-engine footage will be used to give players a clearer picture of the coming video game.
The Twitter accounts of Star Wars Battlefront developers have also suggested that the experience will impress both long-term fans of the franchise and those who are only now seeing what the shooter has to offer.
A gameplay analyst has even suggested that the trailer will destroy the Internet, implicitly hinting that the video game will generate an event of the same magnitude as the recent photos of Kim Kardashian.
Star Wars Battlefront will cover the history of the franchise
On April 17, the Star Wars Celebration event will allow the development team to show off its work.
It's unlikely that DICE is also set to explain the main mechanics of the shooter or to talk about the period it will cover.
A leak that arrived earlier in the year suggests that Star Wars Battlefront will offer gamers a chance to play through the biggest battles in the conflicts between the Jedi and the Sith.
Only limited content from the new The Force Awakens will be included in order to make sure that no one is spoiled when it comes to the new story.
DICE is creating a new Hero system for Star Wars Battlefront in order to allow fans to gain access to points which can later be cashed in so that they can play as powerful characters from the series.
The shooter will be launched before the end of this year on the PC, the Xbox One, and the PlayStation 4, with some sources claiming that December 10 is the official launch date.
