The missions aren't just single-player adventures on levels

Star Wars Battlefront is set to feature the iconic C-3PO droid as well as varied maps for its missions, which are different than the 12 already-confirmed levels for the regular multiplayer mode.

Star Wars Battlefront was confirmed to the world quite some time ago, but only recently did actual details about the sci-fi shooter appear from developer DICE and publisher Electronic Arts. In April, the first in-engine footage was also presented, alongside a variety of information concerning its multiplayer shooter action.

Expect varied maps for the missions

One of the big aspects of Star Wars Battlefront is the fact that there are 12 multiplayer maps as standard in the game, while two more are set to appear with the Battle of Jakku expansion that's set to appear after the game's launch for free and references events from the upcoming "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" movie.

While talking on Reddit with fans, EA's Matthew Everett breaks the maps down and emphasizes that the missions, which can be run solo or with friends via the cooperative mode, feature similar environments but different actual levels. These are unique to the quests in order to better serve the actual theme, so players shouldn't expect to go back through the same level over and over again.

"Mission maps are unique to Missions. The map count we revealed includes only Multiplayer maps from the base game (12 maps). We also have the two extra free maps that will come with the Battle of Jakku. The Battle of Jakku maps will arrive starting on December 1st or December 8th depending if you pre-ordered, which gives us 14 maps total before The Force Awakens arrives in theaters. We will reveal the full Mission map count in the near future," he explains.

C-3PO is also going to appear in Battlefront

What's more, Anthony Daniels, the legendary voice actor behind C-3PO, confirms on Twitter that he's reprising the role of the golden droid for Star Wars Battlefront. While he doesn't share actual details, it's possible that he might appear in brief sequences or even as a playable hero, like the already-confirmed Darth Vader or Bobba Fett.
