2015 should be a great year for Star Wars fans, as EA and DICE have decided that the next game in the sci-fi universe will be launched this year. There's no release date for the moment, but we expect more details in the coming months and probably a launch sometime this fall.

EA and DICE have been pretty tight-lipped when it comes to sharing any details about Star Wars Battlefront, which is why every small piece of information is seen as a major reveal.

Today, publisher EA and developer DICE have decided that it's time to offer fans a glimpse of what's to come. Well, not really a glimpse but minimal information on what they should expect from the next Star Wars game.

In that regard, DICE has published a piece of concept art via IGN and has offered some insight on what they are working on. Niklas Fergraeus, Star Wars Battlefront design director, has told IGN that “the scale of our maps and mode offer a great variety depending on the location.”

DICE promises more details on the game this spring

He has gone on and confirmed that they “made the decision to specifically tailor certain maps to certain modes, and what we get from that is not only incredibly varied scales, but also gameplay that will allow players to live out some of their most memorable Star Wars battle fantasies.”

Star Wars Battlefront is an FPS built in Frostbite Engine and DICE has also stated that they will be bringing the environments to life using their “internally developed photogrammetry systems.”

Last but not least, DICE's official has said that the studio is ready to reveal more about Star Wars Battlefront this spring and their decision is also based on the positive feedback they received from “some close partners,” as they said that this game feels different than other FPS games and fully respects the Star Wars setting.
