Star Walk 6.0 Adds Sunset and Sunrise Effects

Vito Technology has updated Star Walk, its augmented reality app that identifies no less than 200,000 stars, planets, constellations, satellites and galaxies.

Released just in time for the school season, Star Walk 6.0 includes a bunch of new visual effects of sunset and sunrise, new Info for objects, galleries of astronomy pictures from ESO and ESA, and more.

There’s a new layout of the revised info that displays short facts, orbital and physical characteristics, magnitude and elevation, planetary structure, a brand new image gallery, and overview notes.

The gallery for Picture of the Day boasts a cleaner layout with folders for pictures from ESA, ESO, and there’s a new Sharing button for those who can’t help spreading the word about their findings in Star Walk.

Star Walk is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad and requires iOS 4.3 or later.
