Star Trek Online's latest update is live, allowing players to get their hands on a series of familiar adventures. Well, at least familiar to the fans of the starship Voyager, as it is the draw of the game's latest major content update, A New Accord.

The massively multiplayer online role-playing game's Season Nine will have players going against the Undine yet again, as the Klingon versus Federation war is seemingly drawing to a close.

The Season 9: A New Accord trailer highlights the improvements to the free-to-play MMO, such as the overhauled character creation system, allowing for the extensive customization of in-game avatars, players being now able to create unique captains.

But the changes don't stop here, as the update also delivers the much-anticipated redesign of the reputation system, vastly improving the end-game experience.

In addition to this, several kits have been revamped, offering exciting new gameplay options when it comes to ground combat.

The update also delivers an all-new featured episode, dubbed Surface Tension, showing Admiral Tuvak leading the alliance forged to drive back the Undine threat.

Tim Russ, the actor who portrayed Tuvok back when he was a mere security officer on the Voyager, has lent his voice to the season in order to provide more immersion for fans of the show.

The Undine have taken the form of Bajor residents and have infiltrated the planet, with players being tasked with interrogating the citizens and getting to the bottom of the conspiracy.

Undine Assault sees planets from the Alpha and Beta Quadrants under attack, with players being tasked to help defend the four assaulted planets and eventually take down the Planet Killer.

Level-50 captains will also be able to enjoy a new, persistent and cross-faction battle zone. The Undine have arrived in a Dyson sphere, and players have to regain control of the zone, close the rifts and bring down the deadly Planet Killers.

The patch also delivered a massive overhaul to the Earth Spacedock, the main hub area for Federation players, as the developers thought it was not exciting enough and decided to do something about it, which is what developers usually do, and now the entire area looks much better.
