All Star Trek fans all over the world, there are reasons for you to be happy! Actually... there is one reason to be happy about: the first fully-fleshed out in-engine screenshot since the "change in art direction", was released. The graphics are great and everybody's happy that things are still moving in the right direction.

Together with this hot image (available in the upper left corner of this page), a developer's log has been released, explaining another interesting thing players should expect from the game: the Interaction System.

Basically, the interaction system is where every non-combat interactions happen. For exemple, if you wish to talk to a Ferengi shopkeeper, if you need to get some additional phaser training at the local Starfleet Academy, or if you want to beam down to a planet, you will use that system. In fact, when you are done tallying up the mission givers, trainers, vendors, Transwarp Terminal operators and so on, you'll find that there are just about as many peaceful interactions in Star Trek Online as the phasers-and-bat'leths variety.

All this Interaction System is still under development, but we have been promised that the ones in charge of it will have in mind to keep it as simple as possible (less clicks from the users), intuitive, consistent, fun and, of course, trek. It's a Star Trek game, after all!

Talking about the things a player can interact with in this game, the devs had a nice statement: "So, what can you interact with in Star Trek Online? A better question might be: what CAN'T you interact with?" We will just have to wait and see if that is correct or not.

So, as we said in the beginning, things are moving in the right direction and more hot pieces of information are going to pop up. Stay tuned and you'll get to know every single bit of news that will appear in the future!
