We might not know yet the identity of the villain played by Benedict Cumberbatch in the upcoming “Star Trek” sequel, but at least we now know the official title. Possibly.

According to TrekMovie, which has already confirmed this report with various sources close to the production, the film will be called “Star Trek Into Darkness.”

“TrekMovie has confirmed with multiple sources that ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ has been selected as the title for the 2013 sequel to JJ Abrams’ Star Trek movie,” the e-zine reports.

Moreover, Paramount Pictures has already registered the domains ww.startrekintodarkness.com and www.startrekintodarknessmovie.com, which can only mean that they’re going with this title for the sequel.

JJ Abrams is famous for the secrecy he tries to shroud his every project in but, with this particular project, he may have actually outdone himself.

“Star Trek 2” or “Star Trek Into Darkness” is scheduled for release on May 17, 2013.
