The new console benefits from its X86 architecture

Chris Roberts, the main developer working on the space sim Star Citizen, says that his upcoming title could be launched on the PlayStation 4 home console because of its newly introduced X86 architecture.

The veteran game maker has no official announcement to make but at least he is considering the possibility, which is interesting given the lack of space-based simulation available on home consoles.

He tells GamesIndustry.biz that, “I’m not a PC elitist by any means; if I could be on the PS4, and they were open, and I could do the updating and all the sort of stuff we’re trying to do on Star Citizen, then I would definitely consider putting it on PS4.”

Star Citizen was crowd-funded and Roberts Space Industries aims to give players the freedom to create their own destiny inside a galaxy that has depth and solid game mechanics.
