Dean Hall, best known to the Day Z community as Rocket, has announced that the upcoming standalone version of his undead survival game will not offer support for other mods on launch but that it might be added soon after, depending on the feedback that’s coming from the player community.

Day Z itself started life as a mod for ArmA II, the Bohemia Interactive made military shooter, and a number of players have themselves modded the experience in order to make it more suited to their own style of play.

Hall has also made it clear that he is rebuilding the core Chernarus map from the ground up for the standalone launch of Day Z and that more areas will be included, with more buildings opened up for exploration.

Metallic grates will also be added with underground bases accessible for those looking for undead and more loot.

Rocket also wants to make a console version of Day Z.
