While the fans are racking their brains trying to make sense of Zack Snyder’s casting ideas for “Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice,” comic books writer and former Marvel Comics chairman and president Stan Lee knows just the thing that would make the highly anticipated film into a box office hit.

Let’s not kid ourselves, with Ben Affleck as Batman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and possibly Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Snyder is really thinking out of the box in picking his leading men and women. He’s so out of the box that the box is no longer visible.

Fans are starting to wonder and, at the same time, they’re already convincing themselves that this is really the case, whether he’s not about to ruin two of the most beloved superheroes of all times. He’s chosen the most unlikely leads and he seems to be stretching so much he might not be able to handle the complexity of his own story.

“Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice” could be the biggest flop of 2016 if Snyder is not careful. If you listen to the fans, odds are in favor of that happening.

Snyder could still deliver a solid superhero film if he takes Stan Lee up on his word of advice.

“DC could probably make a lot more money with Superman and Batman if they announced that I’d have a cameo in it,” Lee chuckles in a new interview cited by Total Film. “People wouldn’t believe it – they’d have to go to the theatre to see it!”

Stan Lee has been making cameos in Marvel movies for a very long time, and they’re always a pleasant surprise for diehard fans, winks from Marvel for those who know who that nice old man who appears for only a few seconds really is.

He’s just confirmed one for “Avengers: The Age of Ultron,” the second “Avengers” installment, and he’s obviously convinced that one in a DC movie would also boost its box office gross.

He does have a point, a Stan Lee cameo would definitely make “Dawn of Justice” more interesting. It wouldn’t save it though, not if the fans’ worst scenarios come true. After “Sucker Punch,” many have lost faith in Snyder – and not even “Man of Steel,” his first Superman film, has helped them reestablish it.

There is a lot of pressure on Snyder to deliver a “Dawn of Justice” film that would not alienate fans because it’s supposed to be the foundation for the Justice League franchise, the rival to Marvel’s “Avengers.”
