Marvel is usually very opaque when it comes to its future project, and only when most of the details are lined up does it reveal bits and pieces meant only to incite interest. What this does is create a virtual gossip industry around its projects that thrives on said bits and pieces as well as unconfirmed reports.

The latest report from this machine is that there is a new Marvel movie in the works for one of the characters in the Marvel universe, Black Panther. The news comes via Marvel founder Stan Lee, the co-creator of Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, Thor and the Hulk, when he took the podium at the Fan Expo in Canada on Friday.

Comic Book Resources claims that Stan Lee let it slip that Black Panther was going to get his own movie when he was asked about Black Widow getting her own movie eventually, “The chances are she will have her own movie because eventually all the superheroes are going to have their own movies. They are already working on Ant-Man, Doctor Strange and the Black Panther, and there are others I am not allowed to talk about.”

While the Ant-Man and Doctor Strange projects were known to be in development, the Black Panther one must have been a slip of the tongue, because this is the first time we're hearing about it. Either way, we're enthused about the project.
