Stan Lee, who is one of the best known comic book creators in the world, has announced that he will be involved as a player character in the upcoming The Amazing Spider-Man video game.

Stan Lee, who is currently leading comic book development at Marvel, has stated, “Oh, I’m going to be a playable character. I’m going to be a character in that game.”

It is not known exactly what Stan Less means by playable character, given the fact that gamers will be controlling Spider-Man himself during the course of the game.

The development team at Beenox might include a small section where Stan Lee is the protagonist, sort of like BioWare has done in Mass Effect 2 with Joker.

There’s also the possibility that the comic book creator will simply make a cameo, something that he is known for after appearing as himself in both actual comic and cartoon adaptations.

The Amazing Spider-Man will be launched on the PlayStation 3, the Xbox 360, the Nintendo Wii, the DS and the 3DS in late June.
