A stalker broke into Enya's Dublin Castle and terrorized the singer for more than two hours, until the police arrival.
The fan tied up the maid and searched Enya through the residence, forcing the singer to hide in a "safe room", from where she activated a panic alarm. The man eventually left the building, after he took some several objects belonging to the singer.
This is not the first time when Enya's house was broken. First, an Italian fan would walk around Dublin with a framed picture of her hanging from his neck, bombarded her with love letters whilst following her every move for over a year. The man finally stabbed himself after being thrown out of her parents' pub in Gweedore.
The second security breach took place earlier this year, when another fan broke into the castle, but got arrested by the Irish police.
A number of Enya's songs have entirely Irish or Latin lyrics, with others containing the hitherto-mentioned mixed with English or English by itself. Roma Ryan has written lyrics in Welsh, Irish, Latin, Spanish, and even languages created by J. R. R. Tolkien.
Enya has performed songs relating to J. R. R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, including 1991's "Lothlrien" (instrumental), 2001's "May It Be" (sung in English and Quenya) and "Anron" (in Sindarin)-the last two appearing on the soundtrack of Peter Jackson's movie The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.
"May It Be" was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Song at the 2002 ceremonies, but it lost to Randy Newman's "If I Didn't Have You" from Monsters, Inc.
