Video game publisher Square Enix has announced a number of details linked to the combat mechanics of the upcoming Dragon Quest X MMO.

The characters that the gamers will create will be able to move around the game world without having to pause between doing attacks and launching their powers.

When gamers choose a special attack from their skill set, Dragon Quest X will also automatically determine which target is best suited for the strike.

Each character will have a speed parameter to determine how frequent attacks and skills can be and chaining will be a possibility for skilled gamers.

Each attack launched will also have a weight and that will be used to determine whether certain groups of enemies will be frozen or whether they are able to answer to an attack.

Initially Dragon Quest X will be launched on the Wii in August in Japan and a version for the upcoming Wii U is also being developed.

Square Enix has not yet said whether it also has plans to launch the game on western markets.
