It's not clear whether they involved the Eidos Montreal studio

It seems that following the success of the recently launched Deus Ex: Human Revolution the leaders of publisher Square Enix have created a long term plan for the franchise, although its finer points have not yet been revealed.

Marce-Andre Dufort, who is a developer at Eidos Montreal, has told Eurogamer about a long term plan for Deus Ex which was mentioned by Yoichi Wada, the leader of publisher Square Enix.

He stated, “I don’t know what the future is right now. I know that Wada-san said he had a plan for the future, but right now we’re celebrating the success of the game, since it’s the first game of the studio.”

He added, “I don’t know if you’ve seen the credits of the main game, but there were a lot of production babies, so I think people want to spend some time with their families and take some time off. That’s pretty much where we are right now.”

It's not clear whether the long term plans means just releasing more downloadable content for Human Revolution or whether a new game is entering development.

Square Enix also did not mention whether Eidos Montreal, the team which created the most recent Deus Ex, will again be in charge or whether another studio will be asked to handle those duties.

We already know that, at the moment, the same studio is working on Thief 4, which does not yet have a launch date, and a new, unannounced intellectual property.

The Montreal Eidos studio is set to grow in the coming years to more than 400 employees.

Fans of the Deus Ex franchise can look forward to the launch of the Missing Link story based DLC, which will fill in a few missing days from Adam Jensen's story.

It will be released towards the end of October on all platforms.
