The fifth beta revision for Spybot Search & Destroy 2.0 has been released, featuring quite a sum of improvements and modifications. Not only looks are affected, but performance and efficiency as well, as detection criteria is now capable to nail more malicious files and RAM usage has been reduced.

In the new build the Start Center has been brushed up with new views and links are a tad different. On the same aesthetic note, the navigation bar has been shortened and the dialogs are edited.

Files and Folder Scan should be able to pick up more malware, since the heuristics scope is wider. Also, there is an updated version of the rootkit scanner.

Installation now prompts for removing earlier versions of the software, if detected on the system, and you should notice an optimized uninstall procedure.
