Mobile phone carrier Sprint is reportedly gearing up for the release of a series of software updates for some of its Android devices coming from Samsung, including the Epic 4G, Galaxy Tab, and Samsung Transform.

Leaked documents from the wireless carrier, which emerged over at Android Central, show that the company is set to make the said software available for users come March 21st.

Moreover, they confirm that the update would be pushed to all users over-the-air, and that the roll-out process might be completed in around four days.

The new software update for the Samsung Epic 4G would reportedly bring the software version on this device up to EC05.

Moreover, the new firmware would include the Android 2.2.1 (Froyo) operating system version, and should add Sprint ID into the mix, at least this is what the leaked documents unveiled.

Following this update, the Galaxy Tab, Samsung's first tablet PC to run under Google's Android operating system, would run under firmware EB28.

Apparently, this update, which is Android 2.2 (although some might have expected a newer flavor of Google's mobile operating system), would add Sprint ID into the mix, along with the ability to check usage numbers.

Software update EB28 would arrive on Samsung Transform as well, bringing into the mix Swype, along with an update for Sprint Zone, now at version 2.5.

A range of bug fixes should be included in the new software update for this device, targeted at search, mobile hotspot, and Google sync issues.

As stated above, all of these software updates are expected to start rolling out on Samsung's devices at Sprint come Monday, March 21st.

Although an official confirmation on the matter did not emerge for the time being, the rumor is expected to pan out, as the info came from two different sources, it seems.

Some additional info on the new software updates for the said devices can be extracted from the screenshot attached to the left.
