Mobile phone carrier Sprint is set to make its first Windows Phone 7 device available for purchase in the United States under the name of Arrive, if some of the latest reports around the Internet are to be believed.

A specific page to mark the upcoming availability of this handset was already published on Sprint's website, following a twitter announcement on this phone's unveiling.

While the said page does not offer info on the mobile phone itself, it does inform users that more on this will be unveiled soon.

Word on the street is that the first Windows Phone 7 smartphone on Sprint's airwaves would be none other than the HTC 7 Pro, which might have been re-branded as the HTC Arrive for a US launch.

Earlier this week, Sprint teased the unveiling of a new smartphone on February 24th, but did not announce specific details on it.

However, it did say that the phone would include a hub for music, videos, photos and the like, which suggests that the phone would run under Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 platform.

Provided that the long-awaited 7 Pro smartphone from HTC would be that device, Sprint users would enjoy Windows Phone 7 on a handset that includes both a touchscreen display and a sliding QWERTY keyboard.

The mobile phone was already launched on shelves in Europe, and should land in the United States in a CDMA flavor, suitable for Sprint's network.

This would be the very first CDMA Windows Phone 7 device announced for the US market, following the availability of GSM handsets since November last year.

In all fairness, the handset might actually arrive at Sprint under another name, and there is also the possibility that the carrier would unveil another smartphone tomorrow.

It should not be too long before Sprint goes official with the said device, and we'll be able to learn at that time whether these rumors are true or not.
