The carrier will make the QWERTY-enabled Q10 available by mid-2013

United States-based wireless carrier Sprint is reportedly getting ready for the launch of an all-touch BlackBerry 10 device as well, although it won’t be releasing the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone.

The company announced back in January plans to add only the BlackBerry Q10 handset to its offering, providing its customers with a BB phone that features both a touchscreen and a QWERTY keyboard.

However, it seems that the carrier won’t let the all-touch BlackBerry 10 devices slip through its fingers, at least this is what a recent article on AllThingsD states.

Sprint is set to launch a BlackBerry Z10 successor sometime in the second half of the year, it seems. Yet specific details on the matter are not available for the time being.

However, the news site reports that Sprint’s upcoming smartphone won’t be merely a slightly modified flavor of the BlackBerry Z10, but a completely redesigned device.

At the moment, the wireless carrier is gearing up for the launch of BlackBerry Q10, which is expected to land on its network towards the middle of the year.

Rival operators in the US, on the other hand, are gearing up for the launch of BlackBerry Z10, with some of them already kicking off the pre-order period for the device, such as AT&T, which will launch it on March 22.

T-Mobile is expected to make the phone available for purchase on its network this month as well, while Verizon might add it to its offering in April (the carrier will have the white flavor of the handset exclusively available to its customers).

Both Z10 and Q10 are capable of providing users with a brand new mobile experience, as both are powered by the new BlackBerry 10 operating system.

Before the end of this year, BlackBerry might bring to the market more BB10 devices, with the aforementioned Sprint-bound model being only one of them.
