Galaxy Nexus, the latest Google phone out there is expected to make an official appearance on shelves at Sprint as well, after being launched in December last year on the airwaves of Verizon Wireless.

This would be the second Nexus handset to arrive at Sprint, after Nexus S was made available for the carrier's users with support for WiMAX connectivity.

Unlike that device, the Galaxy Nexus is expected to feature LTE capabilities when made available, the same as on Verizon's network.

This would be the first LTE smartphone to be launched at Sprint, which suggests that it will land sometime in the first half of the year.

Sprint CEO has Dan Hesse already confirmed plans to have the Sprint LTE network fired up in the first six months of the year.

Sprint's Galaxy Nexus has emerged in a leaked ad on CNET’s website, though it was pulled off shortly.

However, the guys over at techcrunch managed to grab a screenshot with the ad, thus proving that the latest Google phone is indeed on its way to Sprint.

What's interesting is that the ad mentions a 1.5GHz application processor for this mobile phone, faster than the 1.2GHz CPU that the mobile phone landed on shelves with last year.

It is not unusual to see leaks like this, and the fact that the ad was pulled so fast confirms in a way that things will turn out this way in the end.

Rumor has it that Sprint and Google might make an official announcement on the availability of Galaxy Nexus sometime during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas next week.

What remains to be seen is whether there will be some other changes in the phone's hardware specs list, beside the faster application processor and the support for Sprint's networks (the phone will most probably land with CDMA capabilities as well).
