Mobile phone carrier Sprint should add a new Android device to its offering in the not-too-distant future, namely the Samsung Conquer 4G, a handset that was spotted into the wild before, and which has just made an appearance on Samsung's website.

Just as its name suggests the mobile phone should arrive on the market with support for the carrier's 4G services, while being powered by Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.

The new Sprint Conquer 4G is expected to land on shelves without the TouchWiz user interface on it, but it will still bring support for Sprint ID, offers improved access to specific applications to its users.

The specifications list of this device would also include a 3.5-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a HVGA resolution, as well as a fast 1GHz application processor packed inside.

The mobile phone will certainly be capable of offering great performance capabilities to its users, though it will not be a high-end device.

The new Android-powered handset is also expected to arrive on shelves with a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper on the back, as well as with a 1.3MP camera on the front, for video calling.

In addition to coming with 4G WiMAX connectivity on board, the new handset will also offer support for Sprint' CDMA network, with 800MHz frequencies included inside.

For the time being, no specific details on when the new device might become available for purchase emerged, nor on the price tag it might feature when released on shelves.

However, since the phone emerged at Samsung, the wireless carrier might make an official announcement on this in the near future, so keep an eye on this space to learn additional info on the matter. (via)
