Samsung is getting ready to push to the market its latest flagship Android-based mobile phone, the Galaxy S III, set to land on shelves in Europe and other markets in late May, and planned for launch in the US and other LTE countries later this summer.

All major wireless carriers in the United States are expected to add the new mobile phone to their offerings, and info on the specific models for AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon has already emerged online.

Today, we learn that Sprint’s Galaxy S III flavor is also out there, and that it has already received the necessary approvals from the Bluetooth SIG.

The handset spotted at this certification forum features model number SPH-L710, which falls in line with the model number attached to Sprint’s Galaxy S II, SPH-D710.

Sprint was already said to receive the Galaxy S III sometime this summer and, since this device appears related to its Galaxy S II flavor, we can assume that this is the version of the high-end device that will arrive on wireless carrier’s network.

Recently, Sprint started to offer LTE smartphones to its users, after moving from WiMAX to this 4G technology, and it makes perfect sense for it to try to secure this flagship phone as well.

However, no official confirmation on the wireless carrier’s plans on the matter has emerged until now, and it might take a while before it makes a formal announcement.

When launched stateside, the Galaxy S III is expected to pack a different application processor from the quad-core Exynos chip that Samsung designed the international version with.

It might come with a Qualcomm dual-core CPU inside, which would better cope with LTE networks, but the rest of its specifications should remain the same.

Thus, users will receive a smartphone featuring a large 4.8-inch touchscreen display, 1GB of RAM inside and 16GB of internal memory (32GB and 64GB models were unveiled as well), and with a microSD memory card to add up to 64GB of external storage.

Galaxy S III also features an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, a 1.9 camera on the front for video calling, and the whole range of usual connectivity capabilities and sensors, while running under Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, with Samsung’s TouchWiz on top.
