Although Samsung’s Galaxy S4 has landed on shelves at Sprint only this past weekend, it has already received its first software update, which weighs 24MB.

The new software arrives on devices featuring Build L720VPUAMDL, yet no specific info on what it brings new has been provided as of now.

However, chances are that some last-minute fixes have been pushed to users through it, as a recent post on Android Central notes.

There’s no telling on when Sprint customers who bought the new mobile phone will receive the update, but they can go to Settings > More > System Update on their devices to check on its availability.

In related news, we learn that Sprint’s version of Galaxy S 4 has seen a series of delays at Best Buy, and that those who ordered it will not be receiving their units before May 9.

Provided that things go really wrong and that the retailer won’t be able to fulfill orders as initially expected, users will be receiving their units after May 20.

The info reportedly comes from Best Buy themselves, as the company has sent out emails to customers to inform them on the change in shipping plans for the smartphone.

“We're sorry, but the fulfillment of your recent pre-order is taking longer than expected. We expect it to arrive between May 9 and May 20. To keep you informed of its delivery, we'll send tracking information once the item has shipped,” the company notes in said email.

“If you prefer, you can cancel this order at any time. To do so, please call us at 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289). If possible, please have your order number handy.”

“If we don't hear from you before the order is shipped, we'll assume you still want this item and accept this delay. Once again, we're sorry for this inconvenience, and we’ll do our best to make things right,” the email also reads.

Given that the device has seen delays at other wireless carriers in the United States as well, it might be a good idea to wait a bit longer before deciding to cancel the order. Stay tuned for more on this.
