Wireless carrier Sprint has announced the availability of a new software update for the Galaxy Nexus handsets on its network.

Available as firmware version FD02, the new update brings along a series of enhancements to the device, but does not deliver a new version of the Android platform.

Following the installation of the new software, Galaxy Nexus owners on Sprint’s network will enjoy an updated Google Wallet application, the wireless carrier announced.

Moreover, they will benefit from a series of fixes for issues that affected the handset before, such as the lack of data connectivity after activation, or the fact that it did not display the correct network time following activation.

The update will be delivered to all devices in the next few days. To download and install it, users who experience said problems with the device will need to connect to a WiFi network. Additional details on the matter can be found on Sprint’s forums.
