Mobile phone carrier Sprint is among those wireless services providers in the United States that advertises unlimited monthly plans for its customers. In a recent TV commercial, the carrier is trying to explain that users choosing its unlimited plans should not fear the event that they would be surprised by their monthly bills due to data overage charges.

Sprint's CEO Dan Hesse appears in that video ad, explaining that the operator is truly committed to offering a great user experience to all of its customers.

On the carrier's Simply Everything data plans, Hesse says, users would not have their data usage on phones limited, as other wireless carriers in the country would do.

“The other day, I looked up the word unlimited in the dictionary. Nowhere in the definition did I see words like metering, overage, or throttling, which is code for slowing you down. Only Sprint gives you true unlimited calling, texting, surfing, TV and navigation on all phones,” Hesse says in this ad.

According to Sprint, its Simply Everything Plan provides users with increased value and simplicity, something that other wireless carriers in the United States do not offer.

Users choosing this plan would benefit from unlimited calling, text and Web, including email, social networking, GPS navigation, TV and radio on the go, both on Sprint 3G and 4G networks, for a monthly fee of $99.99, to which smartphone users would add a $10 Premium Data add-on charge.

“Some of our competitors continually attempt to create confusion in the mind of the consumer by talking about ‘unlimited’ plans that are not truly unlimited on their networks,” said Bill Morgan, Sprint senior vice president-Corporate Marketing.

“If you have to worry about additional charges appearing on your bill based on usage, that’s not an unlimited plan. We chose to use Mr. Hesse to deliver that message because he’s become a trusted voice.”
