Next week, the US carrier will offer its customers a new clamshell mobile from Samsung, with an internal antenna, the SPH-M500, a
CDMA2000 1xRTT and CDMA2000
1xEV-DO enabled device, working on 800 and 1900 Mhz networks.
The phone has an internal TFT 262k colors display, with a size of 176x220 pixels, and a STN external one, with 65k colors and a size of 96x96 pixels. It also features a 1.3 megapixel camera, with video capture capability and flash, an MP3 player and stereo Bluetooth 2.0, with support for the following profiles: HSP (Headset), Handsfree (HFP), DUN (Dial-up networking), OPP (
Object Push), GAP (Generic Access), BPP (Basic Printing), GAVDP (Generic Audio/Video Distribution), A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution), AVRCP (Audio/Visual Remote Control Profile).
If you are an MP3 addict, and you find the built-in memory not very satisfactory, the device will make your day by providing you a microSD memory expansion card slot, to store all you favorite MP3s for later audition.
As said in the beginning, the SPH-M500 will get in to the wild the next week, for the Verizon carrier customers, at a price not yet disclosed by
Samsung or Verizon officials.
