One of the best Android smartphones launched by LG, the Optimus G hit shelves in the United States a few months ago.

Unfortunately, the device was released with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system out of the box, and has yet to receive a Jelly Bean upgrade.

All in all, the smartphone has already received two maintenance updates at Sprint, so those who chose to purchase their Optimus G from this carrier will probably consider themselves lucky for making this choice.

The latest update for Sprint LG Optimus G brings only minor changes, though some might consider it important. For example, the official changelog mentions battery improvements, though no further details are provided.

Last but not least, the software update LS970ZV9 brings some Visual Voicemail upgrades that have yet to be detailed. Keep in mind that the update is pushed OTA (over the air), in stages, so not all Optimus G owners might get it simultaneously.
