We already reported yesterday that Sprint planned to start the rollout of Jelly Bean upgrade for Samsung Galaxy S III on October 25.

Today, the carrier officially announces it is the first to offer Jelly Bean to Galaxy S III owners. Sprint also confirms the rollout of the update starts today and will be pushed OTA (over the air), in waves.

Samsung Galaxy S III owners will receive a notification on their devices if the smartphone is eligible for the update. Once the update is downloaded, users will be asked to install the update or they can choose to be reminded later to install the Jelly Bean upgrade.

There’s a long list of improvements the update adds to the Samsung Galaxy S III, so those who wish to check the full changelog can head over to the official announcement.
