The update brings HTC Sense 3.6 user interface as well

Sprint launched the HTC EVO 3D back in June 2011 with Android 2.3 Gingerbread out of the box. However, the Taiwanese company promised it would deliver an upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, it took Sprint and HTC quite a while to keep their promise. The smartphone has already been launched by other carriers in the US with Android 4.0 ICS onboard, which was kind of frustrating to Sprint customers who purchased the EVO 3D.

Anyway, Sprint has reportedly kicked off the rollout of the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for HTC EVO 3D. Those who own the device can now check manually for the update by going to Settings / About phone / Software update.

Keep in mind that the update is pushed OTA (over the air) in stages, so it might not be available to all HTC EVO 3D owners simultaneously.
