The new release is only a minor firmware bump, won't bring Android 4.4 along

Mobile phone carrier Sprint has made available for download a new software update for the owners of HTC One devices on its network.

The new firmware release for the mobile phone packs only a few fixes, it seems. In fact, Sprint only mentions one of them in the available release notes for the update.

According to the operator, the new software “fixes an issue that blocked users from being able to Update Profile/PRL.” As Android Central notes, this will ensure that users can take advantage of good connection at all times.

Unfortunately, HTC One users won’t get the chance to enjoy the benefits of Android 4.4 KitKat following this update, though it might not be too long before HTC starts pushing that platform upgrade to them as well. You can learn more on the new update for Sprint’s HTC One via the carrier’s support website.
