After numerous rumors, Samsung and Sprint have finally announced the Conquer 4G, the carrier's first under $100 4G smartphone.

Those who want to grab the Samsung Conquer 4G will be happy to find that the smartphone will be available starting August 21st for only $99.99 with a new two-year service agreement or eligible upgrade and after a $50 mail-in rebate via reward card.

As usual, the phone will be available in all Sprint retail channels, including online and authorized reseller.

However, Conquer's 4G capability is not the only strong point of the smartphone, as the device runs Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and is powered by a 1GHz processor.

In addition, Samsung Conquer 4G comes with Sprint ID service, which delivers a variety of apps, widgets, shortcuts, ringtones and wallpapers, especially designed to meet users’ needs and interests.

Sprint ID packs are free to download with an Everything Data plan and users can download five at once.

The price of Samsung Conquer 4G makes Sprint’s 4G speeds accessible to more customers than ever. We are proud to deliver this dynamic device at a great value without sacrificing must-have technology. Our customers can really do more for less when this ultra-affordable 4G device is paired with the great value of our unlimited data calling plans,” said Fared Adib, vice president-Product Development, Sprint.

The smartphone comes with a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen, a 3.2-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash and zoom, as well as 1.3-megapixel front facing camera for video chats.

Obviously, the phone comes with dual-mode 3G/4G capabilities, as well as 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot feature supporting up to five Wi-Fi enabled devices on the Sprint 3G or 4G networks.

Other highlights of the smartphone include: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and built-in GPS, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to a 32GB, 2GB card included), Stereo Bluetooth and access to Android Market.

Samsung Conquer 4G requires activation on one of the Sprint Everything Data plans plus a required $10 Premium Data add-on charge for smartphones.
