Sprint has announced earlier today that a new maintenance update for Samsung Galaxy S4 mini is available for download, which should bring Wi-Fi calling feature, along with Galaxy Gear support and other small improvements.

However, the Galaxy S4 mini won't be the only handset available at Sprint that will offer Wi-Fi calling, as the carrier has just confirmed that Samsung Galaxy Mega will receive the same feature.

Wi-Fi calling for Samsung Galaxy Mega will be enabled via OTA (over the air) update in the next few days, so those who own the phablet should check for availability. According to Sprint, after the upgrade, customers will have the following benefits:

- Enhanced coverage; - Easy setup: Once activated, everything is seamless and happens in the background; - Unlimited voice calling and messaging on Wi-Fi: All domestic calling and messaging is FREE (standard CDMA international rates apply for international calls).

The carrier has also confirmed plans to expand Wi-Fi calling to additional devices this year, but no other details have been disclosed.
