Sprint has just confirmed it will carry the Samsung Galaxy 2 10.1 tablet. This is the same model that is now available for purchase in the US via AT&T carrier.

Unfortunately, Sprint has yet to disclose any details regarding the slate’s price tag and availability. According to the carrier, more info on this will be shared at a later date.

Besides Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, Sprint expanded it 4G LTE portfolio with three more devices: LG Optimus G, LG Mach and Sprint Plug-in-Connect Tri-Mode USB.

Although we already knew the carrier will launch the LG Optimus G, the other two devices, LG Mach and Sprint Plug-in-Connect Tri-Mode USB are brand new.

Powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system out of the box, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is one of the few tablets to offer support for GSM voice communication.

There’s more good news as Samsung confirmed the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 would receive an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update in the following months.

As the name suggests, the slate sports a large 10.1-inch PLS TFT capacitive touchscreen display that supports 800 x 1280 pixels resolution, and features Corning Gorilla Glass coating for extra protection.

Hardware-wise, Samsung included a dual-core processor clocked at 1 GHz, a PowerVR SGX540 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM. More importantly, it comes with 4G LTE support for Sprint’s network.

It’s unclear whether or not Sprint will offer both 16GB and 32GB models, but users will be able to further expand storage up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

Sprint is continually recognized as having one of the best device lineups in the industry and we are committed to bringing our customers 4G LTE to all the products they enjoy. We strive to be an innovation leader and this group of devices represent the continual expansion of 4G products to Sprint’s portfolio,” said David Owens, vice president of Product, Sprint.
